16th March 2016, Nairobi, Kenya… M-KOPA Solar has appointed Mugo Kibati as Chair of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Kibati is Group CEO of Pan Africa Insurance and Board Chairman of Lake Turkana Wind Power Limited. He previously served as Director General of Vision 2030 and Chief Executive Officer of East African Cables Limited. Mugo is a graduate of MIT and was selected as a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum.

M-KOPA is also recruiting to its Nairobi-based executive team, as it tracks to connect one million homes by the end of 2017. In Q4 2015 it appointed Carl Thielk as Chief Operations Officer. Carl was previously the Corporate Vice President of Operations at Motorola. And in January 2016 it appointed Yesse Oenga as Chief Commercial Officer.
Yesse was previously Managing Director at Airtel Uganda and Chief Commercial Officer at Vodacom.
