Sim Secure Policy
Your M-KOPA smartphone is secured with a SIM secure feature. This means:
The phone is designed to work exclusively with your registered SIM card.
If a different SIM card is inserted, the phone will automatically lock.
If the phone is lost or stolen, unauthorized use of another SIM card will trigger a lock.
Your registered SIM card must always remain in the device for it to function properly.
For any SIM card or phone number changes, visit your nearest M-KOPA shop with your identification document for support.
Safe & trusted payment options
Pay your first deposit
- The sales agent will generate a unique 10-digit account number for the customer to set up their M-KOPA wallet. Once set up, the customer makes their first payment to activate the device.
- If the wallet setup fails, the customer can pay via Quickteller or Paystack using the 10-digit number.
M-KOPA in-app payment
Initiate effortless in-app payment by:
- Signing into the M-KOPA app.
- Tapping the 'Make Payment' button and following the prompts.
M-KOPA stores and agents do not accept cash and you should never ask for payment outside of the approved payment channels.
